OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — An Oklahoma prosecutor is dropping a murder charge against a 15-year-old who was accused in the fatal shooting of another teenager at a high school football game. Carter died after being shot in August during the Del City-Choctaw high school game in Choctaw on the eastern outskirts of Oklahoma City. One was a 42-year-old man who Oklahoma County Sheriff Tommie Johnson III said was shot by one of the two off-duty Del City officers who accompanied the Del City team to the game. Both of those officers were placed on paid leave, Del City police Chief Loyd Berger said at the time. A Del City police spokesperson did not immediately return a message Saturday for comment on the status of the Del City officers.

The mother of the shooter in the Robb Elementary massacre in Uvalde, Texas, was arrested this week following a domestic violence-related incident, police said. Adriana Martinez Reyes, 40, was arrested Wednesday in Oklahoma City and charged with threatening to perform an act of violence and assault and battery, according to a police report. She is the mother of the gunman who opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde in May 2022, killing 19 students and two teachers. The report stated that police had responded to the same home on Jan. 1 on a domestic-related call. During that New Year’s Day visit, Reyes allegedly told officers she was the mother of Salvador Ramos, CBS affiliate KBTX of Bryan, Texas, reported.

The ADA requires state and local governments to provide people with disabilities equal access to programs and services. In addition, the department will look into how Oklahoma City responds to emergency calls that involve a mental health crisis and if city police follow ADA standards on the scene of such calls. "We will evaluate whether the state of Oklahoma’s failure to provide community-based services for people with behavioral health disabilities in Oklahoma County results in unnecessary institutionalization and unnecessary police contact," Clarke said. The investigation came after a discrimination complaint was filed with the agency, according to a senior Justice Department official.
